TM HMHOHf MUMD Cowboy Track Team Takes Second In Conference Meet At Austin Thirteen Records Smashed On Fast University Track Gregg Smith and Bartlctt Win 3 Firsts Set New Marks. With Simmons tracksters running second to Howard Payne thirteen re- cords were set in the annual Texas Conference meet held at Austin on Friday of last week. Tho Yellow Jackots were away in tho lead with 77 points to their credit. Every record except tho 440 yard dash and tho discus throw was brok- en. Representatives of the schools attributed this to the lightning fast track of the Tcocns Memorial Stadium and to tho fact that the walls of the giant hosreshob kept the wind from interfering with tho events. Simmons had three first places each of them representing a new re- cord by tho Cowboys' field stars Johnny Gregg "Undo Joe" Smith and Bill Bartlett.
