Although, good tackle ami the best of fresh bait are essential, the matter of tides has to be considered. Last Sunday week Messrs. Stewart and Richardson, two of the keenest llihor men on the River with the line, struck a patch of small jew above Pel.ric's punt on an ebb tide, nnd landed I etwocn th-! hours of il a.m. and ?! p.m.. Ii2 of the finny tribe. Of this catch 117 were jew, and 3 crokers. On the previous night, parties from Nambour did fairly well. Besides bagging smaller flsl», Vic Swenson landed a 281b. jew. On the following Saturday night, the same en thusiastic youth, was the only suc cessful angler, bringing home a fine specimen of the 'Ikey Mo' species, which turned the scales at 121b. Smith 'pre sident of th.- Methodist Conference, and unel.-of ihe bridegroom' officiated at the marriage of Colin J.imes Wright, third j-w or Mr. j. e. Wrlitht, sand gate and late of Whitpslde; to Miss Emnu Jane Roberts, second daughter of Mr. Robert Roberts, Nambour. The church was prettily decorated by the j friend of the bride, and Miss Esther Perren( cousin) presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by 'her father, wore a frock of beaded cash mere de sole. Her embroidered tulle veil was arranged with a cirelet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of camellias and Euc?iarM ' lilies.
