Writing from Bamawm, Vic., Mr. William John Youill, late 'of Harvey town, Eaglehawk, Vic., says: "In re gard to the statement I gave you some years ago as to my cure of kidney complaint, I may say that a short time since I had occasion to be medi cally examined and was entirely free from any complaint." One Thing Needful. [Newspaper Article] — Bruthen and Tambo Times — 22 July 1914

BOne Thing Needful. He was ill, or at least said that he was, and the other day he entered the office of a well-known physician and sank into a leather-covered arm chair in the ante-room waiting his turn on the list. At last it came, and the doctor ex amined his tongue critically, felt his pulse, inquired as to the symptoms of his illness, and "then looked wise. Taking a pad from the table, he wrote a prescription, calling for bread pills, and distilled water, or some thing of that sort. Then, turning in his chair, the pi ysician said: "I cannot see that anything seri ous is the matter with you. What you need is plenty of air-: " The patient smiled a broad, bland smile, but said nothing. "Take this prescription regularly every night; but above all things get plenty of air. Good, wholesome, outdoor atmosphere, that is what you need more than anything else." "Ha, ha, ha! I need air, do I?" shouted the man. "Wei!, that is funny." "Why, what do you mean?" inquired the doctor. "Mean? Why...

Mysterious Stomach Troubles. Principle Cause Revealed. [Newspaper Article] — Bruthen and Tambo Times — 22 July 1914

Mysterious Stomach Trou bles. Principle Canse Revealed. A great deal of misery is made about stomach troubles, and many people go in constant dread of life-long incapacity or the hor rors of the operating table just because they experience pain in the regign of the stomach for which they cannot account. In stead'of looking for the cause of the trouble, they seem only too ready to describe themselves as " martyrs to indigestion" or " chronic dyspeptics." Excessive acidity is said to be the direct cause of more thiTn 90 per cent of all stomach troubles, and, according to many eminent physicians, the occasional use of a reliable antacid, such as half-a teaspoonful of pure bisurated mag nesia in a little water after meals will do mere -towards' righting derangerjients-than all the patent foods and medicines ever invent ed, because this gets at the root of the trouble—stops, fermenta tion of the food contents, "and neutralises the acids which other wise would irritate and inflame the sto...
