With tho prospect of such a heavy crop to deal with, I ex- pected the Childers mill would be busy preparing for the crushing. I visited there on St. Patrick's Day, and found that there was little preparation in hand, The whole of the yards of thc mill are overgrown with weeds and deserted looking. Everywhere the tramlines are overgrown with grass, and the flood waters have at various crossings left de- posits covering the rails. There is no intention of beginning crushing till well on in J une. If the crop fulfils its pre- sent promise there will be a long crush- ing everywhere.
