DISTRICT NEWS. (FROM Or/B OWN CORRESPONDENTS.) Coolamon The farming community is at preRent in .1 deplorable condition throughout this and the neighboring districts. Tbe harvest has been tbe poorest ever experienced — not more than five bushels per acre for the best otorops, snd plenty not more than two bushels per acre. This is a grave difficulty with many, and it is feared the Government will hare to be called upon for assistance in nnmeroos in stances. A good fall of rfliu is billy wanted to fill the tanks and soak the groand for ploughing. Recent thunderstorms have filled some of tbe tanks, but in most places water is very scarce.

A meeting of the Teraora to Gunbar Railway League was held on Saturday last by the North Barellau and Bt ya, Branch of the above league at Mr Poole's residence, Binva. the chair beine occupied by A. G. Uumby. A number of members were in attendance. Correspondence from members of Par liament and from other branches of the league was received. Busiuess was freely discussed and resolu tions passed re the further advancement of the recommended railway.
