Miibruiong Jockey Club. A RECORD MEETING, '' ' ' This year ihe Milbrulong races proved to be a record, and wifch the fall-bloomed Milbrulongr Jockey f'lnb. 'registered under A.J U rules, s:ip ' ' pluut'iig the ordiuary race committee, it mav'be said that che anuual racing nxtnr'e at Milbrulong lias entered uuon':i new era. In the bands of the pre^t nl officials we have no hesitation in' saying that the club's future career is highly promising. It was a lii tie unfortunate that the date finally allotted the club fell just before the holidays, bnt it will be remembered, thattli'. clubtiist in tended to have the races on Anni versary day. The character of the season made that date inconvenient, and vnrious postponements resulted in Wednesday last being the final date di-cidi'd'on. Random Readings. COETHE'S MISTRESSES. [Newspaper Article] — The Lockhart Review and Oaklands Advertiser — 18 April 1911

Random Readings. ? GOETHE'S MISTRESSES. Many Englishmen and English women are acquainted wiih the name of Goethe, the great German poet, as the author of 'Faust.' Goethe was twenty, young, hand some, and aristocratic. Women turned to gaze at him, and girls blushed when his -ardent look was directed at them. His whole per son clearly expressed that Nature had intended him for love, to love and be loved in return, and he obey ed the dictates of Nature very scrup ulously. It was in Strassburg where his first love affair occurred with two sisters. They were the daugh ters of his dancing master, two charming girls. of 19 and 17 respec tively, and evidently destined by Na ture for the interesting game of love. But 'the course of true love' and so on ? . Whilst Lucinda, the elder of the sisters, concealed a vio lent passion for the poet, he fell in love with Emilia, the younger. But, alas, his love was not returned, for young Emilia had already given her iittle heart to another. Great was ...
