Natlialia Flower Show. A MAGNIFICENT EXHIBITION Wednesday last was the day put aside, for the annual. flower show, held in aid of the local fire b.igade building fund. Nutwithsta; ding the dry weather which prevailed, the entries were only a few short of-last year's number, and the flowers were of a much better quality, • Mr Pescott (principal of the Burn ley Horticulture College) was judge, and of course it was natural that his judging was satisfactory to every one. In addressing the audience, Mr' Pescott siid that this year's show was the best ever held in Na thalia for quility of plants and flo.vers. Employment of Germans at the University. Mr Bayles speaking in the Legis lative Assembly on the above ques tion said tliat he had received the following ietter from a well known lawyer in Melbourne. "It will in terest you to know that I have drawn the revocation of a legacy to the Uni versity of ;£i<y,ooo in consequence of German influence being there.I cannot professionally give you par ticulars but it is a fact you may men if you like.
