Tlnougli Frrcmnn & Co's Expnus. Tlic New World arrived at her landing this morning at 2 o'clock, and was followed in a few minutes by the Wilson G. Hunt. We give such items from the San Francisco papers as appear to us most interesting. In the Senate, on the 221. the bill heretofore offered by Mr. B.oderick, entitled a bill prescribing the amount of compensation and mode of payment to persons performing military services for the State of California, and paying expenses of Indian wars, —was taken op ana passed. Gov. McPougal and lady arrived in Stockton on Friday. They will remain there several days. A Mexican, who had broken jail at Stockton, was shot in the back and dangerously wounded by the jailor. The Alta informs us that Dr. Simm, of Texas, and a Lieutenant under Col. Hays, in the late war. was shot and mortally wounded at Saco Placer, on the Mokelumne, on Sunday, the lGth.
