Mclelland and Mr William Armstrong, Vice president* Messrs. Thos. B. Scott, and Matthew Howell, Secretaries. The object of the meeting was then explained bp J. H. Rolfe, Esq. on motion of whom it was resolved —That a Committee of fire be appointed to draft resolutions expressive of the sense of the meeting, and to reccemend a suitable candidate for the Legislature. The following gentlemen were then appointed, J. H. Rolfe, Capt. C. S.Tutte, Col J. Porter, Horace Cole, S. S. Bayliss. On motion of J. W.
