A TRIBUTE TO THE VALLEY OF EAOLE ROCK. [Newspaper Article] — Eagle Rock Sentinel — 22 April 1910

A TRIBUTE TO THE VALLEY OF EAOLE ROCK. Woiildst thou know a peaceful valley, Lying up among the hills, vVhere the very beauty of it All one’s blood with pleasure ethrills; Where the many happy song-birds Till the air with melody { Then leave the city’s roar and strife And come apart with me. 'Tis beauteous in the morning When the lights are changing fast, And shadows Hit across the hills Like wraiths of pleasures past. And then again at noontide When the sun is shining bright, And one’s eyes are quite bewildered By the glory of the light. But in the quiet evening, As the twilight’s growing dim And every purple hill-top Seems to breathe a vesper hymn — Ah, 'tis then we love our Valley And we face the setting sun With a thought of great thanksgiving For the glorious day that's done. And stealing thro’ the sadness Of the fast declining light Comes joy because we live so near (tod’s stars that shine all night. Mrs. B. V. V. Candee. We are doing tin* repairs for this entile section. We g...
