Fort Wortb, Tex., Jan. 17—The telegraph lines formerly operated by the Fort Worth and Denver City Railway Company between Fort Wortb and Texline, a distance of 453 utiles, have been transferred to the management of the Western Union Telegraph Company and will hereafter be operated as a part of the system. The object of this wove the Denver officials Maid to- day, was to give the citizens along the line of the Denver Road a much reduced telegraph rate to all parts of the country. Hereto- fore a local rate had to be charg- ed to'Fort Worth. The construc- tion of the line was commenced in 1882 along with the building of the Fort Worth and Denver City Road, and was completed in 1888 The line was recently inspected by Superintendents J. J. Dickey of Omaha, R. C. Cleary of Denver and Assistant Superintendent B. Brooks of Denver. Arrangements have been made whereby the Denver road will handle its' telegraph business as before. Mr. M. H.
