Our Contributor. GUARDING THE TREASURE. [Newspaper Article] — The Wollondilly Press — 14 April 1906

Our Contributor. GUARDING THE TREASURE. It must be a great occasion indeed when the dignity of the British Empire so far unbends as to send a Prince of the Blood Royal into the far corners of the earth to decorate an Eastern King with one of its most precious honors. "The! British Empire," said Daniel Webster, "a power whichhas dotted over the sur face of the whole globe with her posses sions'and military posts, whose morning drum beat, following the sun and keeping company with the hours, circles the earth with one continuous and unbroken strain of the martial airs of England." It is a recognition of the power of. Japan, an acknowledge ment that her enmity is to be feared and her allegiance to be sued for ever: by the mistress of the world. Although the elements of Australia's success ha...
