CHURCH OF ENGLAND. A SALE of gifts, and competition, in aid of the funds of the Church of England, was opened in Tyson's Hall, Fernmount, last Wednesday afternoon, and continued until last evening. The hall was tastefully decor ated With flags and ferns, and the stalls excel lently arranged. The management appeared to be in most capable hands, and the whole affair reflected the Greatest credit on the resi dents of Fernmount. Especial preparations had been mnde to haul in the nimble coins. In addition to a good display of serviceable and ornamental articles, a powerful auxiliary, in the way of lovely sirens who insisted on extracting the last coppcrfor their wares, was requisitioned.
