REMEDY FOR RED SCALE. "Citrus" writes, irifonmngua that red scale has made its appearance on his lemon and and orange trees, and inquires the remedy. According to a recent issue of the Milium Cultivator I the best remedy for this injurious in sect, Aspidiotus aurantii, commonly,; called the red; scale, is kerosene emulsion,' which is made as folljfcis:-s Dissolve p>. of hard soap in 1 gallon of boiling water, add 2 gallons : of kerosene, atid churn with a pump five to ten minutes. Dilute 10 to $5 times; before applying.

PACKING LEMONS. Ti-tree bark for packing lemons is highly recommended. Last July some oranges were packed in this substance and kept well for seven months. The bark can be bought in Queensland. It is very light, a hundredweight of it going a long way.
