FROOTOIDS Cure Headache, Indigestion, Constipation, and Biliousness. [Newspaper Article] — Alexandra and Yea Standard and Yarck, Gobur, Thornton and Acheron Express — 8 May 1908

FROOTOUIDS Cure Headache, Indigestion, Constipation, and IlIliousness. - oo---- The immense number of orders for Frootoids, sent by post direct to the Pro prietor, is convincing proof that the Public appreciate their splendid curing power over the above-named complaints. They are elegant in appearance, pleasant to take, and; what is of the, utmost im portance, thoroughly reliable in affording quick relief. Frootoids are immensely more valu able than an ordinary aperient, in so far that they not only act as an aperient, but do remove from theblood, tissues, and internal organs,.waste poisonous matter. that.is clogging them and choking the channels that load to and from them. The beneficial effects of Frootoids are evident at once by the disappearance of headache, the head becoming clear, and a bright, cheery sense of perfect health taking the place of sluggish, depressed feelings, by the liver actingproperly, and by the food being properly digested., Frootoids are the proper aperient ...

In Memoriam. BAKER. -In loving memory of our dear son Willie, who died May 9th, 1907. Age, 3 years and 3 months.   Weep not for me my parents dear because I died so young. The fewer days the fewer sins, God's will it must be done. Precious darling he has left us, Left us yet, for ever more, But we hope to meet our loved one On the bright and happy shore. Lonely the house and sad the hours, Since Willie, dear, has gone ; But, oh, a brighter home than ours In heaven is now his own. -Inserted by his loving parents, brother and sisters.

,lqxandra & Jqa *tandagd NEC TEMERE NEC TIMIDE. FRIDAY, MAY 8, 1908. irt: Federal Government has unfolded its scheme in relation to Federal and State Finance, and, as we have all along anticipated, there is nothing new in it. It is practically an embodi mnent of Mr. It. Harper's scheme. For years past now we have witnessed the same old bickerings and wranglings, each Premier jealously watching the other to see what he had to unfold in ther way of a solution to the problem, and all of them have waited and watcihed for what tihe Federal Govern nent had to submnit. It appears that the Prelmricrs, who lmet in consultation after Mr. Deakin's speech, unfolding the tlederal proposal, are not at all satisfied with the siheme. Sir \Villiam Lyrie, by his most remllarkable cstiiato of £6,U00,000 to be divided between the States instead of the £9,0000,000 which they formerly divided under tihe three-fourths Customi's management, has raised a barrier that will need to be removed before a...

GOVERNMENT COOL STORES, PROPOSED ABANDONMENT. ALARM IN THE TRADE. [Newspaper Article] — Alexandra and Yea Standard and Yarck, Gobur, Thornton and Acheron Express — 15 May 1908

GOVERNMENT COOL 810RE8, PROPOSED ABANDONMENT. ALARM IN THE TRADE. .A position which, from the point of view of the exporters, can only be described as lamentable, has been created by the Ministerial decision in respect to the cool stores at Flinders street. The decision cuts away from the policy of the past, and proves nothing for the future. As is well known, the Government leases the cool stores from the City Council. The rental is L15,000 per annum, and the existing contract ex pires in July of this year. More than twelve months ago the Minister of Agri culture announced in his'most impressive manner that he was considerinmr a plan of I action, to be given effect to in a year's time, He was contemplating something; precisely what it was he could not say. At any rate, it was to be for the benefit of everybody; it was to help the people who had butter, rabbits, lamb or mutton to freeze, and it wiae of advantage to the Government as well. The Government, Mr Swinburno pointed out, .w...

TO-MORROW'S MATCH. Johnson's Creek will journey to Thornton to try conclusions. Mrs Jessie Lomas, Gladstcne. Q., writes: "I strongly advise every parent to keep a bottle of Chamberlain's Cough Remedy in the house, and I always make a point of telling my friends of the recovery of my son. For 11 years he had suffered from acute bronchitis, and though I had him try a lot of things, nothing seemed to give him permanent relief. A medical man advised me to got Chamberlain's Cough Remedy, and I (lid so. A decided improvement was noticed before the first bottle was used, and I aom pleased to state that after he had taken four bottles he was completely cured, and is now enjoying the best of health. Alexandra & Yea Standard NEC TEMERE NEC TIMIDE. FRIDAY, MAY 15, 1908. [Newspaper Article] — Alexandra and Yea Standard and Yarck, Gobur, Thornton and Acheron Express — 15 May 1908

Slqxa dra & "qa p taudand NEC TEMERZ NEC TIMIDE. FRIDAY, MAY 15 1908. The Trawool reservior scheme will necessitate alterations in the railway line to Mansfield, and new routes are being suggested. Statistics are being collected showing the area that would be- served by a line from Seymour through Koby. boyn and fuffy to with the Mansfield linet at Merton; the local league to.work in unison with Kobyboyn, Whitehead's Creek and Seymour. At Whitehead's Creek a league is advocating the construe. lion of a branch line of railway froni Mansfield to Seymour to take the place of the Tallarook-Yea donnection, which will be submerged by the construction of the Trawool reservior. The meeting unani mously favored the Seymour-Mansfield connection, and it will co-ovlerate with the central !'e:gue at Rutty. It was pointed out that,. besides opening up fertile country. it ouhld cornal t the connection with the Melbourne, Goulburn Valley and North-Eastern markets, which would not be obtaine...

SPORTING. CRICKET.   LADIES' CRICKET. THORNTON V. ALEXANDRA. For the past fortnight, the lady cricketers of Thornton and Alexandra have been practising at the nets as- siduously for the match which had been looked forward to with interest. Thorn- ton have boasted of a ladies' cricket club for some years, and are well up in the game, but Alexandra never had a club, and might never have met on the cricket field had not Mr. W. H. Whiting, the captain of the Alexandra cricket club, visited Thornton three weeks ago as a spectator of a scratch match between the ladies of that place. It then dawned on him that it would be an easy matter to get together a cricket team amongst the ladies of Alexandra. He at once set to work, with the result that he has had a team practising together under the tuition of himself and others for the past week with the hope of trying conclusions with Thornton. The girls took to the game immediately, and proved themselves excellent pupils, so the mat...
