NOT'.I'S AND NEWS. Mr. Candler held an inquest on Monday at;, ticlunond, on the body of ia young mans named ~VYt. James Cunliflb, who comniittcd suicido the same day, under somowhat menl ancholy circumstances. It appears that he had for some littlo tiinme past been in low spirits and a very des1poming state of mind, owing, according to the evidence of his em ployer, a grocer juned Towns, to " sdme love affair with a young lady." Mr. Towns asked him the reaso? of his despondency, but the deceased only replied, ".1t was nothing." On Sunday night he went to bed ns usual, in tlhe same roo trwith a man namod Michaol Donnolu. The latter, heard him get out of bed at about six o'clock in the morning, and almost immediately return to hirbod.
