[ POULTRY J [Newspaper Article] — Ohio Farmer — 12 January 1907

[ POULTRY J HEN-HOUSE QUESTIONS AGAIN . O . T . A ., Campbellstown , O ., wants some suggestions about a hen-house , and he sends a plan which he is considering . He wants a house for 75 hens an . I his plan is lo make the house 32 x 12 , 7 ft . in front and 5 ft . in rear ; roosting room 10 ft . ; scratching pen , 18 ft . ; and 4 ft . at one end for nests , the nests so arranged that when a hen wants to sit the nest can be turned into the nest room for that purpose . Outside he would have a yard for the brooding hens to exercise in during the period of incubation . The floor is to be of cement . I think O . T . A s plan is a very good one , and I do not see that he is in need of very much assistance . The house is ample for 75 fowls . I would suggest his trying the open scratching pen . As his building Is to face the south the experiment can very easily be made . I think it has several things in its favor , and it does reduce the expense of building . The front of this open part sh...
