The Party. A large number ot young peo ple were royally entertained Thursday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Henderson, in honor of Miss Minnie Donohoo, who will leave soon for Nashville, Tenn., to attend school. The lawn was beautifully il luminated by Japanese lanterns and fair feminine faces. Mess. Watermelon were present in their most tempting guise but we couldn't eat any?) don't think they were very good. Music, games and conversa tion in the parlor and croquet, sparking, etc., on the lawn made the hours fly only too swiftly by and at II o'clock the crowd took tbeir departure. This was certainly a most en joyable affair and all agree that Mr. and Mrs. Henderson are un rivaled in the art of entertain ing. Slaughter Tops the Mar ket. Kansas City, Mo., Sept. 10. Receipts of cattle at the stock yards exceeded 30,000, break ing all records, and at the close of business 34,650 head were in the yards. Most of the cattle are thin, from the range country (Kansas), though the Panhandle of Texas furnished large num bers.
