The news this week is interesting, in many particulars, and yet it is uninteresting when considered., m. comparison with the exciting news we "had expected 'ere tins io have received. List Friday the report came that it was reported in Washington that Burnside's army had crossed to Rappahannock—that Gen. Sumner had flanked the enemy, and that victory was certain." We waited with breathless anxiety lor the confirmation, when lo it was contradicted. Matters on the Rappahannock, so far as we know any- thing about them, remain in a ttu quo.
