Positive Virtues.—The most of tlio so* called great remedies possess only that sort of negative or passive virtue, which, while it may not often cure disease, will seldom endanger life. Bristol's Sarsaparilla is equally safe, but it is possessed of that posi tive or aggressive virtue which will not tolerate the presence of disease or impure blood or humours in the human system, where it is used, ami thus it is that it always eflects complete and lasting cures.—Advt, Holloway's* Pills. — Swimming of tho head, nausea, distaste for food, and a feeling of lassitude and exhaustion, are infallible i indications of a torpid stomuch and general sluggishness of the secretive organs and the | circulation. A course of Holloway'a | great cathartic, alterative, anil tonic remedy will remove every unpleasant symptom, and ! imbue both the body and the mind with unwouted energy. THE WILD SHEEP OF CALIFORNIA. (Overland Monthly.) [Newspaper Article] — Wagga Wagga Advertiser — 24 November 1875

THE WILD SHEEP OF CALI FORNIA. (Overland Monthly.) Tub Cnlifominn specios (Oris montana) is a noble nniraal, weighing when fully grown somo 350 pounds, and is well wortliy tlie attontion of wool growers as a point from which to make a new departure. That it will breed with the domestic shcop I have not the slightest doubt, and I cordially recom mend tha oxperiment to the various wool growers' associations ns one of great national importance. The cloth ing of onr wild slieop is composed of 6no wool and coarse hair. The hairs are frotn about two to four inches long, mostly of a dull bluish-grey colour, though varying somewhat with the seasons. Iu general character istics they are closely related to the hairs of the deer and antelope, being light, spongy, and elastic," with a highly polished surface; and though some what ridged and spiraled, like wool they do not manifest tko slightest tendency to felt or become tnggy. A hair two aud a half inches long, which is perhaps near the averag...
