COFF'S HARBOR TIMBER; COMPANY. - Ao? the- BelUngen Police Court on Monday 1 last, before Messrs. II. A. Evans (chairman), : II. Boultwood, and E. Kaymond, Js.P., there wore four cases for wages against R. N. Elliott (trading as the CoCE's Hnrbor Timber Company). Mr. IT. B. Richards, as agent and book-keeper for the company, admitted that the claims were j.ist and' correct, but as Mr. Elliott was only a partner in the company a verdict could not be entered against him. Two partners of tho firm were deceased, and until their respective estates had been wound up Mr. Elliott could do nothing.. After hear ing considerable . evidence, the Bench, how ever, thought otherwise, and gave a verdict in each, ease for. the amount claimed, with 4s. lOd. co3ts of court and £1- each for expenses.
