POINTED AND VISIBLE. [Newspaper Article] — The Carcoar Chronicle — 18 March 1898

POINTED and RISIBLE. By 'On- Sport', Cowua. A wise hot once asked : ' Why are women afraid of mice and cats ain't ? ' That boy had evidently been think ing. The question itself shows that the child was naturally of a thought ful frame of mind. It is to be hoped he lived to be an alderman or some thing. There is more in the question than meets the eye. * Why are women afraid of mice ? ' We have propounded this problem to many thinking men, but none of them seemed able to afford us a satis factory solution. We have asked women, bat they either cannot or will I not tell why. This cannot be correct, I because women with lean shanks, I who, under ordinary circumstances, | would almost die before they showed i their extremities, even to their best friends, will hoist their skirts peril ously high at ...

MANDURAMA XHOM OUIJ CORJIKSrONDENT. Wednesday. On Monday afternoon, Mr Bull of Blayney, having business to transatet at one of the stores, tied his horse outside. In some manner it rubbed the winkers off and then bplted; coming to grief near the railway station ; both shafts were broken and the sulky was otherwise dam aged also. The entertainment by the Verner Dramatic Troupe last night was much enjoyed and patronised for such a small town. In kst week's edition we were collectively requested to ' ' Haste to the Wedding '. Are we to offer congratulations or not 1 Some of our young ladies, not to mention the two at the Swamp, are all excitement to know whether it is a cruel hoax.
