On Tuesday la*t (the 6th) the district of Warwick was visited with one of the most fearful storms that has been witnessed for many year*. Between Gieugallan and Warwick the plains are almost inundated witb water, and several large trees bave been shivered to atoms by the electric fluid. Kit. SPCBGEOys NEW TABEBXACLE. On Tuesday afternoon, the foundation stone of this long-talked of building was laid in the presence of some three thousand spectators. The spot selected for the site of the 'Taber- nacle,' as it is termed, is at tlie coroor of the Newington-road, lacing the Elephant and Castle. Tlie whole etrncture will be an imposing one, and one of tlie largest of its kind in the metropo lis. The etyle of the edifice may be termed Grecian, the ground plan forming a large quad rangle, the floor of the chapel being considerably raised, access gained to it by a board and massive flight of st^p-, lea ling np to a portico, supported oo large Corinthian columns uf Bute stone. The total width of the building will be eighty-six feet, the length no less than one hundred and ninety-five feet, and the height to the roof eighty-five feet, exclusive of tbe lanterns for light and ventilation.
