I met Tim (Hussey) hei'e the first;night he land ed. I was lying in my dug-out and I heard him speaking. I at once looked out and said, " Is that you Tim " and to my surprise he answered " yes." PENSHURS1 TROTTING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the j Penshurst and District Trotting. Club was held at Richie's hotel on Monday night, when Mr A Olle presided over a good attendance. . The balance sheet of the previous year showed that the total receipts were £1.39 8s and the expenditure £103 14s id, making a credit balance for the year of £36 13s 8d. After the drawing up of the balance sheet the sum ol: £25 had been paid over to the Patriotic fund, it having beeu previ ously decided that the. whole of the profits of February meeting be> devoted to this cause. This reduction left the balance in credit at ,£1.2 9s. The president expressed gratification at the succehsful year which had just been passed through. The fact that they had been able to pass £25 to the patriotic fund spoke for" itself.
