Bryer) resi dence, Petrie (Qld.) last Friday. He leaves a family of eight: Tho sons are Isaac. Frank. John (Billinudtrel). George (Federal), Alexander (Gayn dah, Qld.), Mrs. J. W. Wallwork (The Pocket), Mrs. F. Bauer (Bris bane), Mrs. B. Bryers (Petrie, Qld.) Ralph, youngest son of Mr and Mrs. L. G. Stephenson, of Yelgun, who is a rtudent at Hurlstone Park College, whilst riding a bike, was knocked down by a car. He received a broken collar bone, and the bike was smashed up. Much satisfaction is expressed hero at the action of the Department of Education, in calling tenders for the tie a* class room at the local school, which wa3 very badly needed. Freeman in commenting ou the result, of last Saturday's Shire and Municipalities' Association conference at Muilumbimby, referred to the bal ance sheet a3 presented, which reveal ed that expenses of running the body had been kept, at an absolute minimum and complimented the work and ef ficiency of the secretary (Mr. J. W. Every-Burns, Casino) . Mr. Freeman stated that Mr. Buln's work .was dpsprving of the highest praise as ho was acting with out reward and there was no doubt that the Association was thoroughly justifying it si existence, largely, by ti:e Secretary's personal efforts.
