NOTES & COMMENTS [Newspaper Article] — The Western Champion — 8 July 1922

Gooudiwiudi is waking up, or lias woke up, and conceived an idea that It would like to have the electric light and a better water supply. As reg&i-ds the electric light such an ambition is highly commendable, for only those who have enjoyed it can estimate }ts value at the proper alti tude. The same as regarrds a better water supply- It is thought £10,00C would be enough to improve the supply of water, while £9000 would do for the lighting scheme. Where is the money to come from? Well, the Treasurer is* expected to provide the needful, and Mr. King, member for district, and others formed a deputa tion, and saw the Under-Secretary, who promised to submit the matter to the Treasurer—a slight variation upon consulting colleagues, or rc ferring the matter to the Cabinet However, good luck to 'em; may it not be another case of pigeon-holed and forgotten. The rabbit is described as a pes' and a severe one at t.hs*'. ar.d vet it has done what nothing else eo'ld do at least in parts...
