Meeting of the People. Iu pursuance of previous public notice, a very large meeting of citizens, tax payers and property-holders, of Bradford county and its vicinity, convenedjat the Court House jn the borough of.Towanda, on Monday evening, the 14th inst, for the purpose of taking into consideration the propriety of urging the Legislature to pass a law for the relief of snqh persons as feel aggrieved,: in consequence of the construction of the North Branch Canal, and for a just, equitable and fair appraisement of damages, to such presous as are justly entitled to a remuneration. . Letter from the Kansas Gold Bigga^, Onr Washington correspondent has been permitted to make the following abstract of a letter written from an intelligent yonng gentleman at the Kansas gold diggings to hit iather, who is a member of Congress from one of the western states: Gold Diaaisos, Abataboe, K.T., Jan. 6,1850.
