The gentleman at present residing in this city called upon us on Saturday last , in reference to the proposed match between Coit , t he Indi a n , o f Brooklyn , and himself . In order that his propositions to test the strength of Coit may be clearl y unders t ood , we give below the rules upon which he offers to meet t h e Indian . Each man to wear a jacket well and strongly made and stitched ; said jacket to be loose enough to enable a man to get a good hold on to it—the jacket reaching to within 6 inches of the knee ; no grease or any other material to be placed on the jacket , or used in any other way , to defeat an opponent , but the match to be a fair and manly trial of strength and skill .
