SPLENDID DINNER AT PORT PHILLIP. On Tuesday, the 30th November, the Civil Offi   cers of the above establishment invited Captain Hobson, and officers of his H. M. S. Rattlesnake, and Captain Lonsdale and Mr. King, of His Majes ty's 4th, or King's Own, regiment— to partake of a farewell dinner, given for the urbanity, kindness. and attention shewn by Captain Hobson and officers during the time they lay at this Port. The dinner was given at the Marquee of Mr. Smith, a settler, residing here, whose name for hospitality is prover bial, who is doubly beholding (having had the whole of his stores including his wife and daughters, conveyed to the Settlement by the Man-of- War's boats, free of expense, and for which he generously rewarded the sailors, by giving them a glass of grog each.)
