SHIP NEWS.       Yesterday arrived the Fortune, Cap- tain Henry Moore, with 242 male con- victs and a Military Guard of 27 Rank and File, commanded by Ensign Mullin of the 8th Veteran Battalion, from England which she left the 28th of   January in company with His Majesty's   armed vessel Porpoise, the Alexander   transport, and Lady Madeline Sinclair with stores, Governor BLIGH being on       board the latter ship. — The Fortune parted company with the above vessels in 9° north, on account of sickness:   arrived at Rio Janeiro the 11th of April,   and sailed the 30th, leaving the Alex-   ander and Elizabeth whalers at that port,   which had parted company with the Porpoise and Sinclair about the 10th of April, the latter ship proceeding on to the Cape of Good Hope. — The For- tune has lost only three convicts and one soldier, who were diseas...

PIRATICAL CAPTURE OF THE VENUS COLONIAL BRIG The following is the substance of the deposition of Mr. Samuel Rodman Chace, master of the Venus, taken before the Magistrates of at Yorkton on the 17th           of June ultimo relative to this infamous transaction.
