CIRCULAR HEAD PRODUCE MARKET. [Newspaper Article] — Emu Bay Times and North West and West Coast Advocate — 29 January 1898
CIRCULAR HEAD PRODUCE MARKET. CIRCULAR HEAD, Friday,— About 850 bags of potatoes were shippod by the Tekapo yesterday. There will be little business transacted until Monday, when the market will again open for shipment by next Sydney bond. The late rain, though not nearly enough, has greatly benefited the potato crop. For harvesting, the present weather cannot be beaten, and the sample of grain will be nice and bright. There is a consider- able increase in the area of wheat this season over last. Breheney Bros, have 60 acres and H. C. M, Medwin about 40, King Bros 70; besides many others. Farmers are all taking to grow a little wheat, if it is only sufficient for gristing for their own consumption. The dry weather is unfavorable to graziers, but they cannot complain, having done, and likely to do remarkably well.
