Police Court. TUESDAY. • (Before Mr Stevenson, A Saddle Case. Henry Bostoek v: Robert Lowrie-— alleged detention of a saddle. •Mr Evans appeared for plaintiff and Mr Goonan for defendant. ITenry Bostock said : 1 am a miner,•' I know defendant, saw him on the 23rd April, mid said to him •'What are .■you going to do about the saddle.' He said you pay, 25s for it and I'll pay ;25s, and we will give £5 for the saddl& to Alfred King and will pay the bal ance next pay day. I said to him 'No I have to pav £5 for the saddle, and you borrowed it from me.' The saddle I claim is the one I had the con versa tion about. Horace Wait, who was arrested on. suspicion, wis present-, in custody, Tim evidence, of Roset.ta JasprizzA,. »'ife of deceased, was taken in her bedroom—where she is confined, suf fering from the ofil-ets of shot wounds,, and also being an invalid. Witness stated that she returned to bed. Deceased was preparing for bed. at eight thirty when he heard n. scrap ing noi-e on t lie verandah. This was followed by someone putting the muz--, zle of a gun through the window. The •• first shot inflicted a flight wound on her leg..
