I TARWIN LOWER. ::Mr~ Inspector Burgess visited :Tarwin Lower a few days ago for tihe. purpose of selecting a site for a new school. He decided upon an allotment near the present building,and tenders will be called shortly for the erection of a new edifice. The old structure has been in use for about 25 years, and has been leased by the Edu cation Department for a schools so that the time has arrived for something more up-to-date. The State mine at Wonthaggi has returned to the agents in Mel bourne some tons. of explosives made ih Germany. For the 12 months ended 30th June there was a substantial in crease in the number of criminal cases before the courts. Constantinople reports state that the Sultan of Turkey has de cided against giving military sup port to Germany. The Japanese cruiser Takachico sunk by a mine in Kiao-chau Bay. Only 10 saved. -
