A Hawker Bobbed. We are. informed that Anthony Abraham, of Muswellbrook, hawker, on Wednesday, 20th instant, camped at Mr. John Myers's house, Giants Creek, and slept 111 the kitchen with a hoy. He had his goods also in the kitchen with him. The door, which was fastened by having a chair propped against it, was opened during the night and a large bundle, containing silk handkerchiefs, shirts, razors, &c., was removed from the kitchen to the veran dah, where it was found in the morn ing ; and 011 examination it was found that goods to the value of had been stolen. The robbery was repor ted to Constable Dwyer, who was in the vicinity, and he went to Denman and obtained the assistance of Con stable McCurley. Muswellbrook Beekeeper's Convention. The following paper was read at the Bee Conference, held in Muswellbrook 0112nd and 3rd March. As space will permit we intend publishing the differ ent papers for the information of those interested. Wax. Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen,—I propose 111 this short paper touching only in the briefest possible manner 011 the origin of wax which is not, as is supposed by many, brought in by the bees from outside sources. It is a natural secretion of the in sect itself and, under certain condi tions, it accumulates in thin, transparent scales in what are called the wax pock ets which to the number of 8 occupy the space between the abdominal plates or rings.
