To the Editor 'Direct Action.' _ Dear Sir -by direction of the Victorian branch of the Australian Peace Alliance I wrote the Acting Prime Minister, asking him to receive a deputation from the Al liance on the question of press censorship Under date of March 18, 1916, the fol lowing reply has been received: — 'WiHi inference to vour letter of the 10th inst., asking- that the Acting Prime Minister receive a deputation from your Alliance on the subject of censorship, 1 am desired by Senator Pearce to point out that as he could only take action in respect of definite instances given, him, he would prefer that the representations proposed to be made be submitted to him in writing, when they would receive full considera tion.
