New South Wales Harvest. ESTIMATED -YIELD 14,500,000 BUSHELS. The Government statistician esti mates. that the forthcoming wheat harvest in New South Wales will show a yield of about fourteen and a half million bushels, but remarks that this quantity may be consider ably reduced unless further rains ace received shortly. . . In the course of his report Mr Trivett says " It is a very difficult matter in normal circumstance to de termine the probable harvest so early in the season, and (He difficulties are considerably accentrated on account of the pecular conditions Which be set farmers at the present time. Goiilburn Valley Seat. A. M'BRIDE M'CLELLAND. On Thursday night last A. M'Bride M'Clelland-, the Liberal candidate, spoke before a large audience in the Public Hall, Nathalia. President Ball presided, and in a few words introduced the speaker. The candidate, on rising, met with a good reception, and was given a splendid hearing throughout and frequently applauded. A full explanation of Preferential Voting was given by the candidate, who plainly showed that this form of electing a representative did away with any excuse for the Peoples' Party choosing a candidate as it had done, and }aid stress upon the fact, that he stood in the Liberal interests quite independent of it. He drew attention to the increase in the rail ways of the State, and he agreed with the Government and its policy of further extending them into the country districts, and considered the inducing of settlement by th,is means, the breaking up of big estates, and a generous water supply' policy to be the means of brin...
