How to make Maple Sugar The natural color of maple syrup Is white . It is by no means an uncommon occurrence , and undoubtedly you hare noticed syrup on the top of a frozen bucket of sap which had the appearance of the finest quality of honey ; and if you have ever tested maple syrup thus produced by congealatlon you will recall Its exquisite maple flavor . This alone is a positive proof that color ln pure maple syrup in foreign to It The standard color of maple syrup , as adopted by the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers Association , is a light amber .
