f UNIVERSITY MISSOURIAN VOLUME II FOOTBALL WILL BE SAFER FAIRER New Rules Arc Issued in New York by Committee of Ten FOUR PERIODS OF PLAY Dr WJ Monilaw Discusses Some of the Changes in Game The new football rules will make the game both saner and fairer according to Dr W J Monilaw who tried them out with two teams at Lake Ceneva Wis this summer The rules have just been made public by the rules committee There are four big changes in the rules as I understand them said Or Monilaw last night They are first requiring that the forward pass go not more than 20 yards second re quiring that a kick go 20 yards before it is onside third prohibiting push ing and pulling and fourth chang ing the goals at the end of the quar ters instead of after touchdown Less Luck in Forward Pass The fact that a forward pass can not go more than 20 yards yill pro hibit reckless throwing of the ball far down the field The rules concern ing the eligibility of men to receive the pass is the same as before but th...
