TOMINGLEY. [Newspaper Article] — Narromine News and Trangie Advocate — 9 March 1900

TOMINGLEY. Messrs. Paton Bros, of the John Norton Mine, have erected a new bat- tery of ten stampers, one of Hookin- son and Co's, of Sydney, of the latest improved style. At present it is driven by a 12-horse power engine, which I am given to understand will soon be replaced by a vertical engine of more power. Since the erection of this bat- tery they have crushed about 200 tons going a little over 1oz to the ton. Previous to the erection of this battery Messrs. Paton Bros crushed over 500 tons averaging 1oz to the ton. They intend having a cleaning up at the end of the present week, after which things will be at a standstill owing to the want of water, the same being a very scarce commodity there at present. The proprietors expect to start a Cyanide Works shortly. TRANGIE. A very pretty wedding was cele- brated here on Wednesday, 28th Feb- ruary, when Miss E. J. Lindsay, of Trangie, and Mr G. Blunden, of Drip- stone, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony, the ceremony being p...
