Schooners in Trouble - : o:- NEAR COOKT'J'OW (Ily Telegraph .rolt Our Correspondent.) Cooktown, January ]?9. COptain B. j]Ranson arrived here yes tellay morning by the l)utch steamer Lnraire. He reports that on the 30th ])ecember, while lying off Claremont Is land, in company with the schooner Mystery, a heavy gale from the noUth east blew the schooner Victor on a reef. Previously Evanson and the four memlbers of the crew hlad got safely ashore in a dingey. At 8 p.m. the Mystery, with Captain Rotomalh and two natives, lead disappeared. No signs have since been seen of her. Both vessels were (fl1 of cargo for Port Stuart. The Victor's hold was full of water, but it is thought that the damage to the vessel is not serious. Neither 1 v,5sel nor 0ar4o a'e in urd. Both vessels are owned by Evarson Brotlhers. Lator. The schooner Nellie arrived ?Ist night. She reports that the Mys tery and crew are safe at tihe Flind ,rs River.
