THE first meetiiig, at ivlijch there was an attendance of twenty -one Vueinbe.rs, of the new Committee ol the Port Macquarie and Hastings 'District 'AgrpsulMiral aud Horti cultural Society \ ^as '? t jield in the rooms of the institution on Saturday last. The President, Mr. W. Fryer, occu pied the chair, and opened the meeting by expressing the hope that they would have a prosperous year, in which a large share of useful work would be performed, Tim Secretary lead the. minutes of the previous Committee meeting, also those of the annual general meeting, and these were confirmed. A letter was read, to tlie effect that Mr. Despeissis, instructor in agriculture, would deliver lectures at Port Macquarie und Wauchope during the month. The Secretary explained that he bad arranged the lnctures without consulting the Committee, as time, did not permit of this course. On the motion of Mr. Bain, seconded by Mr. Suters, the Committee endorsed the action of the Secrrtary....
