NATIONAL CONCERTS, *Ireland's beautiful melodies will be greatly in evidence at the Irish Musical Festival at the Town hall on Saturday evening, March 6th, when the first series of monthly National concerts under the Faulkner Smith direction will be given. Madame Mary Conly's numbers will in elude those she sang at the London Gaelic and Dublin Irish Festivals. One of the songs will also be sung in Gaelic. Military Sports & Swimming Carnival at Fairfield. THREE CARNIVALS IN ONE. On December 12th last, a patri otic carnival, conducted by the Fair field Amateur Swimming Club with the assistance of other district or ganisations, was held on the Fairlield reserve and resulted in a profit of nearly .0oo. The assistance given Ib, tile Collingwood Infantry, the 7th and 8th Engineers, and the St John Ambulnce Brigade was largely responsible for such a satisfactory return, and the committee decided to recognise the services rendered. The officers concerned were enter tained at a military dinner on the 13th inst., while a military sports meeting was arranged for the men. The only date that would suit the men was February 2oth (last Satur day), and as that was the day selec ted for the annual carnival of the swimming club, it was decided to make one huge gathering.
