Wild tales they tell about the Woolgrowers [Newspaper Article] — Country Life Stock and Station Journal — 18 April 1924

Wild tales they tell about the Woolgrowers EXTRAORDINARY rumours are about concerning the woolgrowers* atti tude towards the sale of their wool. The rumours originated in Mel bourne, and have spread to all the States and even to Yorkshire! One of the rumours is to the effect that the woolgrowers are attempting to create an organisation that will dictate the price of wool. The rumour is utterly absurd! Just how this rumour originated we do not know. We do know that the woolgrowers of Australia are not discussing any such scheme. Another rumour is that owing to the decided stand taken by wool growers, a 'deadlock' is likely over the question of the draft allowance. This rumour also is absolutely unfounded. In another part of this issue we publish the official reply of the woolgrowers to the wild rumour. As tie reply points out, the woolgrowers hope to settle the question by friendly negotiations. There Is not the slightest indication of a deadlock. Those busy-bodies who spread these w...
