The Bad and Worthless [Newspaper Article] — Evelyn Observer, and South and East Bourke Record — 6 June 1884

The Bad and Worthless are never imitated or counte-feitd. This is especially true of a family medicine, and it is positive proof that the remedy imitated is of the highest value. As soon as it had been tested and proved by the whole world tlat Hop Bitters was the purest, best and most valuable family medicine on earth, many imitations sprung up and began to steal the notices in which the preen and the people of the country had expressed the merits of H. B., and in every way trying to induce suffering invalids to use their stuff instead, expecting to make money on the credit and good name of It. B. Many others started nostrums put up in similarstyle to H. B. with variously devised names in which the word " Ilop" or "Hops" were used in a way to induce people to believe they were the same as Hop Bitters. All such pretended rennedies or cures, no matter what their style or namae is, and es. pecially those with the word "Hop" or "Hops" in their name or in any way eon sected with them or ...

The Evelyn Observer. Published Every Friday. FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 1884. [Newspaper Article] — Evelyn Observer, and South and East Bourke Record — 6 June 1884

h4e 6belpn @bserner. Psldished ceery~ Friday. VFil DAY, JENE 6, 1884. As we stated Ianst week the third Ses. sion of the twelfth Parliament will be opened by the Acting Governor, Sin WILLIAM. STAwP..L,.on Tuesday next. Although no serious blunders have been comemitted during the recess, there have been enough incidents to give a handle to. the professional politician for an attack. Nevertheless, the Govern iment seem to be strong enough to carry into law good and useful measures. Al though we do not profess to know any. thing of the intentions of the Govern ment, we believe that a prominent posi tion will be given in the address to the question of Federation. It does seem monstrous that two cohlonee like Vita tario and New South Wales,, with their interets 'so interwoven, should have different laws. Victorians, by both posi. tion and capital, are as much interested in the adjoining colony across the Mur ray as the New South Wales Welsh, noon themselves, therefore what is cer tain to...
