HOSPITAL RACE MIEETING. The attendance at the above meet in: held at the Alexandra racecourse iast Saturday, did not appear to be as rgod as at previous meetings. The course was hard, with dust in evidence. The fields, with the excep. tion of one event, were fairly good, and the racing was of a splendid stan. iard. ALEXANDRA POLICE COURT Thursday, March 8th (Before Mr. Catlow, S.M.) Senior-constable Freitag v. John Arthur Burchall, indecent language. Fined £3, or 14 days' imprisonment. Evidence was given of an incident at the corner of Aitken and Bon streets, Alexandra. First-constable Koop v. W. J. Keat ing and Jbhn McIlvaney, of Eildon, using indecent language in Grant street, Alexandra. Fined £5 each, in default 14 days' imprisonment. Harold Stanley Martin, of Eildon, charged with driving a vehicle, to wit a motor car whilst under the influ ence of intoxicating liquor. Remand ed to appear on the 3rd May. Bail of £25, with .surety of £25, was al lowed. First-constable Collis v. S. J Evans, charged with stealing two, mo ter tyres at Eildon. Defendant plead ed guilty. Dele gates from each of last year's clubs were present, and the League was 3 re-formed, and in addition, a Sec- c ond Eighteens'. competition. The retiring. president (Mr T. P. Mitchell) occupied the chair, and Mr B. Hansen (secretary) and Mr G. Diggle (treasurer) were at the offi cial table. Weeks referred to the seats s at Alexandra (donated by her) as having become a nuisance, in their present positions, and gave s her reasons. The one near Bar ton's residence was receptly oc-, cupied by a man who was intox icated, and the seats down Rivers dale were placed there for elderly people but were never occupied by those people.
