Wedsesdat, Skptembek 19. Several questions were put to members of the Ad ministration, and a petition was pre sented from Mr. B. T. Finniss, which -had - to be withdrawn on account of an informality. The Partnership Law Amendment Bill was read the second time, and carried through Committee. The House agreed to the second report of the Committee on the Postal Law Amendment BilL Mr. Townsend introduced a motion to the effect that it is undesirable that the Com missioner of Police should be absent from the duties of his oS.ce, which after considerable discussion, wa» negatived by ah amendment for the previous question, the majority for the amendment -being three — 12 against nine.
