LOCAL AND DOMESTIC. BREACH OF THE MASTERS' AND SERVANTS' ACT — On Wednesday, at the Police Office, Mr. G. H. Wilson was summoned 'before the magistrates to answer an information filed against him for a breach of the 9th clause of the Masters' and Servants' Act. in having persuaded one John McLean, the hired servant of Mr. James Ivory, to put goods on his master's dray belonging to a person residing in the country without the permission of Mr. Ivory or his agent, thereby inducing the servant to violate his agreement. Mr. Macalister appeared on behalf of Mr. Ord, the agent of Mr. Ivory, and stated the particulars of the case. The facts were admitted by Mr. Wilson, who said that McLean had asked him if be had any goods to send up the country when he replied that he had and he then delivered to him goods weighing 578lbs., as he was anxious to avail himself of the opportunity of sending them to their destination.
