Farmer's Department. Planting Orchards. It Is generally recommended to plant apple-trees from thirty to forty feet pirt eioh woj; such recommendation ii mida with knowledge of the ultimate wants of the tree. But the question rise, is it tho best and most profita ble? Orchard grounds iro generally ab solved from pasturago and the general farmer is oftentimes deterred from planting as many trees as ho desires, because be cannot well spnro the pas turage. Others plant but small or chards because they do not like the trouble and care of plowing around and among tho trees.
