'Best Foot Forward' now playing at PR [Newspaper Article] — El Sereno Star — 11 June 1964

'Best Foot Forward' now playing at PR If “Buckle Down. Winsocki,” "Shady Ladybird,” “Little Joint With A Jazz Band” seem to have Dixieland beat In the current Pasadena Playhouse revival of “Best Foot Forward,” it's purely intentional, according to Mickey Ingalls, the show’s musical director. When the director, Wes Kenney, transposed the 1941 Broadway hit to the flapperhappy 1920'5, Ingalls made arrangements of the Hugh Mar-tin-Ralph score which reflected the musical sounds of the period. Choreographer Joan Tewkesbury Maguire and costume designer Joseph R. Markham echo’d the transition in their creative contributions to the production. Coming up next at the Playhouse will be the 20th Annual Midsummer Drama Festival, “Plays of Our Patriots,” June 30-Sept 19.
