With tho exception of the re ports in another column we rmve received nothing import- ant. It was generally believed that the Convention would adjourn on Saturday last the 23d inst. Some traders who lately visited Corpus Christi report- ed that General Arista has for several weeks past been concentrating the whole Mexican "Army of the North" at Matamoros. He has recently removed his head qnar ters to that city and is now fortifying it. It is said that the force now under his command in that city exceeds four thousand troops. This however we do not believe we are confident that he has not more than twenty rive hundred men under his immediate command.
